*** MIRACLES DO HAPPEN - SEE LINK BELOW FOR NEW PICTURES OF BUNKCAR MOVE! ***

The McCloud Bunkcar, recently found to be a four man foreman's car, has been moved to the SCRPS yard in south Redding. Few details are available due to Matthew Shuman's annual deer hunting trip. Rumor has it that the car was craned onto two trucks (one for the body and one for the trucks) moved to the south Redding yard, and craned onto a 66ft track panel built by Jim Arbuckle, Rich Cunningham, Lee Horner, Dave Jungkeit, Lyle Morando and Chuck Southard. The off load crew consisted of Matt Shuman, Rich Cunningham, Rick Marty, Dave Jungkeit, and Chris Dickson of Bragg Crane. Also John and his son from Burney with the lowboy trucks. Note, latest info has the car dating back to 1910. More to come later. Could the CSRM Whitcomb loco be next??????? Please contact Matt Shuman to find out how you can help at 241-4350.         Click HERE for the photos of car.

Their address is 1880 Park Marina Dr., Redding, Ca. 96001-0913. Website: www.bloodsource.org.

No references, previous job experience necessary. Please call or e-mail Matthew Shuman at 241-4350 or e-mail at scrpsmail@aol.com . (Annual salary that of the Board of Directors and Officers of SCRPS. - haha!) After years of superb service, the Haas's have retired

Projects in the works:

1) Moving the McCloud Bunk Car to Redding. Must be accomplished as soon as possible. Crew chiefs and assistants needed. UPDATE - The Bunkcar has been moved to our South Redding yard. Help is needed to preserve and restore this 1910 vintage car.

2) Rail setup at Fawndale Oaks RV Park for displays. Dirt is being moved for rail setup at Fawndale Oaks RV Park for displays. Again, crew chiefs, laborers and assistants are needed. Please call today. Contact Cary and Shannon Park at 530-275-0764, office@fawndaleoaksrv.com, or a Board Member for additional details.

3) South City yard cleanup and organization at South Redding Yard. Contact Matt Shuman at 530-604-8006 or Jim Arbuckle at 221-2726 for details and work day schedule.

Items needed:

1) Storage Box/Trailer to secure some of the item's at the yard from theft and damage. 20 to 40 footers would be great.  Even an old box trailer with wheels.

2) Attorney services to review and assist in contracts, etc.

3) Trailer mounted compressor.

4) Shrink wrap for wrapping wooden cars being moved soon. (Like you see holding pallets together.).

5) 14 or 15 inch Flat Panel computer monitor for Depot computer at the security company.

6) Large Building to start consolidating wooden equipment, especially the 109 Shasta Car from Sacramento.  UPDATE - SCRPS had hoped to use the former engine house in Dunsmuir for the Shasta 109 car but circumstances are looking like that will not happen.

Have an idea on how we can improve our website? Send your ideas to www.scrps.com.

Many projects are in the works for the next few months such as continuing site prep at Fawndale Oaks RV Park, site development and cleanup at the South Redding yard, and most of all the bringing home of the Shasta 109 Pullman car.

As you can see our plate is full and we have many opportunities to expand our organization and raise funds for SV&E #2, but this will only happen if we each contribute what we can to these efforts.

Remember, you can contact any Board member to assist or find out more details. Please Note:  All volunteers must be members of the Shasta Cascade Rail Preservation Society for insurance reasons.
